- The hydraulic down pressure kit allows for additional digging force in hard soil
conditions. The kit consists of a cylinder that attaches to the PHD-200 post hole digger by the use
of mounting plates. It operates using the tractor hydraulic system and it provides
between 300 and 500 lb. of additional down pressure depending on mounting
configuration.

Could not recommend it enough. This post hole digger has paid for itself the first time I used it. Had it little ove a month now and from the time you put it together you can tell that it’s built heavier than most of the ones out there. The fact that this is one of the few units that allows you to mount a hydraulic downpressure cylinder also speaks of the build quality. There is a reson why the box store ones do not offer that, the boom would split in half the first time you operated the cylinder. In my opinion if you live in an area with hard clay, the hydraulic downforce kit is a must have.
