It is actually a pretty rugged mower for the $’s and does a great job if you keep the blades sharp and the under-deck cleaned of too much wet grass. The 1st time I did my neighbor’s 5 acres he asked “What the H*** did you cut that with…it’s amazing…there’s not a shred of cut grass to be seen”.

The C28RD5H is not a brush hog, but it seems to hold its own on blackberries, tree roots, stumps and old fence. And I thought it still cut pretty nice too! Last year I mowed several acres of rough former hayfield and I was pleased as punch with the results. By fall it was starting to look like a lawn, except for all the hills and valleys.

Bought this unit in 2015 and it has not let me down yet. Installed new blades last year.
